Opportunities for Broome

We are very happy to announce that the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) has awarded a $3,482,479 Million Grant to Opportunities for Broome (OFB). The total amount of the project is estimated at $3,570,479. The remaining $88,000 in funding is being provided by Tioga Opportunities/Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).  The Grant is part of OTDA’s Homeless Housing and Assistance Program (HHAP). Logan Cunningham, an Opportunities for Broome Head Start alumn has been selected to represent Head Start’s 27 million alumni at the National Day of Opportunity in Nashville, April 19.  Logan was 1 of the 27 chosen nationally to represent Head Start. While in Head Start, Logan was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. He is currently a 17 year old senior at Vestal High School and has plans to become a paramedic. He is actively involved in his church youth group and volunteers with preschoolers.... (more...)
